Presentation on the Inter-Island Super Ferry Project
On February 8, 2007 members
of the Hawaii Section Younger Member Forum, University of Hawaii engineering
students, and transportation engineers from the community gathered at the
CH2M HILL downtown office for a presentation on Hawaii’s future mode of
inter-island transport. Theodore W. Bell, P.E., associate vice president
and director for Moffatt & Nichol’s waterborne transit practice, gave
the presentation highlighting the technical points of the ferry’s construction
and its planned schedule of operation. The ferry is on schedule to
be in operation by mid 2007 with service to the Big Island by 2009. |
