Ronald
McDonald House Dinner Service Project - Saturday, November 25, 2006
By Florence Ching, YMF Past
President
On Saturday, November 25,
2006, eight members of the ASCE Hawaii Section YMF and eight Junior Girl
Scouts and two parents from Troop 548 gathered to prepare, cook, and serve
a mouth-watering barbecue dinner for the families staying at the Judd Hillside
Ronald McDonald House. With Tony Lau as the head chef, the menu included
BBQ chicken and ribs with a wide variety of desserts provided by the Junior
Girl Scouts. After dinner, the Junior Girl Scouts organized a Thanksgiving
craft activity with the children at the Ronald McDonald House.
Throughout the years, the
YMF has sponsored and prepared several dinners for the Ronald McDonald
House families. The warmth and appreciation expressed by the families
has made this community service activity a favorite. Thank you to
all of the YMF members and Junior Girl Scout Troop 548 for taking the time
on a Saturday to participate in this rewarding activity. |
