Engineering Film to Debut During Engineers Week

HONOLULU, Hawaii – The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Hawaii Section will present an engineering film aimed at inspiring the next wave of future engineers by celebrating engineering ingenuity. The film entitled Dream Big will debut in Hawaii on February 23, 2017 at Consolidated Theaters Ward 16 for a single screening. Doors will open at 5pm with opening program at 6pm followed by the feature film at 7pm. Narrated by Academy Award Winner Jeff Bridges and filmed for giant screen theaters, Dream Big will showcase engineering marvels from around the world in a visually stunning 3D format.  For more information on the film please go to www.dreambigfilm.com.  For ticket purchase, please register through the link listed below.   Tickets are $5 for 18 and under, $10 regular admission.

Neighbor Island Students, Travel Subsidy Application

ASCE Hawaii would like to extend the reach of DREAM BIG to students in Hawaii, outside of Oahu where the feature is showing. We are selecting a handful of students to attend the premiere.

If interest in this opportunity please submit:

•One Page Essay (Not more than 500 words) on “What is your dream occupation and why”.
•Please include Full name, email address, and contact phone number.
•Email essay, to tgoshi@ascehawaii.org. Email must be received by February 6, 2017 .

Travel Subsidy will include:

 1.Airfare to Honolulu international airport, for one Student and one Accompanying Adult.
 2.Dream Big tickets.
 3.Taxi Fare, Transportation to and from Honolulu International Airport.

Awardees will be responsible for making their own flight and transportation arrangements. Hotel accommodations are not covered by subsidy. Only Awardees who attend the event and submit copies of flight and taxi receipts will be reimbursed.  Max amount covered for a round-trip flight to Oahu is $200.00 per person and must be booked 10 days prior to the event.
