2017 ASCE WALTER LUM SCHOLARSHIP


DONOR & FUNDING:  American Society of Civil Engineers Hawaii Section
Walter Lum Scholarship Endowment Fund
                                                      
PURPOSE:  This Scholarship is to assist undergraduate students pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering in the College of Engineering at the University of Hawaii.
                                             
NUMBER & AMOUNT OF AWARDS: Up to two awards in the amount of $3,000 each. 

NOTIFICATION:  The ASCE Hawaii Section Scholarship Committee will notify recipients of their selection by April 15, 2017.  Awards will be presented at the ASCE dinner meeting on April 27, 2017.

SELECTION CRITERIA:


  1. Undergraduate student enrolled in the College of Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering Department, University of Hawaii at Manoa
  2. Junior or Senior class status.
  3. Academic Merit
  4. Preference given to active University of Hawaii at Manoa ASCE Student Chapter members.
  5. Preference to students with demonstrated financial need without other substantial financial assistance.
  6. Effectiveness of personal statement.

PROOF OF ENROLLMENT:  Recipients must provide proof of enrollment at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

RENEWAL:  The scholarships are awarded annually.  All applicants must submit a completed scholarship application. 
 
HOW TO APPLY & DEADLINE:  Applications may be downloaded here.  One hard copy completed applications must be RECEIVED at the address listed below by March 10, 2017 along with proof of enrollment (receipt for current semester).
