The Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation (HHFDC), the State of Hawaii’s primary agency for developing and financing affordable housing, is seeking a Development Section Chief. The Development Section Chief is responsible for directing the activities of HHFDC’s Development Section which includes evaluating development proposals, negotiating development agreements, administering the agency’s 201-H zoning exemption program, master-planning State lands to support development of affordable housing, underwriting and administering interim construction loans for affordable housing and infrastructure projects, preparing contract documents, leases and other real property documents, and reviewing and providing input on legislation.  

Preferred Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, planning, business administration finance or real estate.  Three years of professional work experience in land development and/or real estate development, at least one of which should be in the State of Hawaii.  Supervisory experience or aptitude.

Salary range:  $7,916 to $9,926 per month, depending on qualifications.
