Account Manager/Engineer - Water

Your Opportunity 
Stantec is seeking an Account Manager within our Water Business Line. As an integral part of the team supporting our Water Business Line growth efforts in Hawaii, you will understand our service offerings and identify opportunities to grow these services to meet client needs and expand our geographic coverage.  

The position is for water professionals who are passionate about teamwork and collaboration. You will have direct responsibility for client service and development at all levels, across all services and disciplines of the client organization, leveraging Stantec’s resources. You will work to understand our client’s growth strategies, initiatives and expectations and then translate that understanding into superior customer service and account growth. Your Key Responsibilities
Win: Lead Business Development  
     • Identify trends and develop a long-term view of the industry, market, and clients in Hawaii. 
     • Grow key accounts with a focus on Water Business Line technical services, ranging from water and wastewater treatment to

        conveyance and sustainable water resource management. 
     • Engage our clients in meaningful discussions about their most critical issues and translate those discussions into opportunities to deliver

        solutions. 
     • Introduce new Stantec service offerings to the client, collaborating with Stantec Subject Matter Experts who focus on service delivery to

        the Water Industry. 
     • Perform regular client account analyses and develop tactical action plans for specific pursuits. 
     • Actively participate in pursuit decisions, and in proposal and pricing development. 
     • Actively participate in regional and national industry groups to advance the Stantec brand.  
     • Coordinate with Stantec’s marketing team to develop targeted branding materials, leverage event participation, and maximize exposure          of Stantec’s subject matter experts. 
     • Engage and develop relationships with key industry partners that can help advance Stantec’s position in the marketplace 


Do: Support Project Delivery 
     • Provide leadership and management on a wide variety of technical services including: 
            o {Primary} Wastewater collection, pumping and treatment, including residuals and biosolids handling and management 
            o Water reuse and reclamation treatment, storage, and transmission 
            o Water conveyance, storage, pumping, treatment, and transmission 
            o Water resource management 
            o Business and management consulting, including financial planning, capital project management, and identification of funding                          sources 
            o Construction and alternative delivery 
            o Program management 
            o Resiliency and sustainability 
            o Asset Management and Intelligent Platforms 


​Manage: Supervise and Mentor 
     • Leverage Stantec resources to ensure strong management and successful technical execution of work. 
     • Contribute to the development of a team of high performers who will deliver a successful client account program. 
     • Mentor staff as we grow our client base and workload. 


Your Capabilities and Credentials 
     • Understanding of Hawaii’s water marketplace, including experience working on projects and with clients in this geography. 
     • Project management experience and expertise with understanding of relationships and needs between scope, schedule, and budget. 
     • Technical acuity in wastewater collection, pumping and treatment, including residuals and biosolids handling and management. 
     • Experience developing and leading successful teams that provide solutions to clients’ needs. 
     • Demonstrated experience in team building, delivery of integrated services, and contract negotiation.

     • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
     • Geographically based in Honolulu. 


Education and Experience 
​     • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical or Civil/Environmental engineering. Master’s preferred. 
     • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE). 
     • At least 8 years of relevant professional experience, demonstrating diverse experience in public and municipal sectors associated with            the planning, design, and construction of water infrastructure projects. 
     • At least 5 years of experience with client relations and developing business. 
     • Preexisting relationships and experience with Water utilities in Hawaii would be ideal.
